April - June 2026 Bali eNewsletter

Dear AquaMarine Diving – Bali Associate

I hope the first three months of 2026 have treated you well and you’ve stuck to any New Year’s Resolutions that you made, especially if they include “Book with AquaMarine Diving – Bali” 🙂

Last Thursday (19 March) was Nyepi, Bali’s ‘Silent Day’, a truly unique experience – even the airport is closed. Then, the very next day, was Idul Fitri (known in Indonesia as ‘Lebaran’), the end of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.

So, with Easter in early April, it’s a time filled with religious festivals and celebrations with friends and family.
(AMD-B also has Special Offers for Easter: Discounted PADI Advanced OW Diver course and also for Day Trips).

Families with AMD-B

I should probably preface this with: My team here at AMD-B feel like my family 🙂

The concept of ‘family’ means different things to different people. In addition, we live in a world that feels to me both more divisive and more ‘blended’ than 20 years ago.

AquaMarine is all-about inclusivity, and we’re very keen on encouraging everyone to try scuba diving – whether young or old, waterbabies or more on the ‘decidedly nervous’ side of the scale 🙂

Wed 22 April is ‘International Mother Earth Day’ and Fri 15 May is ‘International Day of Families’ – we have Family-focused Special Offers for both.

Before I get too carried away talking about AMD-B’s 2026 ‘International Days’ Special Offers, just click here to see them!
NOTE: ‘International Days’ Specials are different from ‘Website’ and ‘FB’ Special Offers 🙂

Why visit Bali – with or without diving… – in April, May and June?

The obvious answer is that March is the start of ‘Manta Madness’ – yes, we see Manta rays year-round in Bali but April to May is when we see them in greater numbers… so lucky to live here!

We actually have a brand new Blog Post – ‘When Is the Best Time to Visit Bali?’ – that obviously covers that question!

Reminder: Early Bird Special – deadline 31 March so hurry!

On the subject of “Booking to dive with AquaMarine”, don’t forget our ‘Early Bird Special’:

Finalise your itinerary and pay your deposit before 31 March: 10% discount and guaranteed prices on dive trips up to 31/12/26.

2026 Best of Bali Dive Safaris (BoB!)

Join AMD-B’s Best of Bali Dive Safaris (known as ‘BoB’!) to circumnavigate the whole of Bali, or just focus on the north or east coast (including Nusa Penida for Manta Point, and Mola-Mola/Ocean Sunfish July-November).

AMD-B’s 2026 Best of Bali Dive Safaris

I’m diving at Biaha (plus Mimpang and Tepekong) this Saturday – Ketut and I saw a Mola-Mola (Ocean sunfish) last time we were there, yes very out-of-season, so fingers crossed!

Bali’s 2026 Mola-Mola/Ocean Sunfish Season

Mola-Mola-Dates-2026

We’re beginning to look ahead to one of Bali’s most anticipated Mola-Mola (Ocean Sunfish) season, which is expected to start around June.

Each year, these unique and fascinating creatures make their way into Bali’s waters, offering divers a rare and memorable encounter. While sightings are never guaranteed and always depend on conditions such as water temperature and currents, there are certain periods that tend to offer more favourable opportunities than others.

For those interested in diving during Mola-Mola season, aligning your trip with these periods can make a noticeable difference—and you may also wish to consider our Day Trip and Safari Special Offers.

AquaMarine Diving - Bali is a ‘Green Fins Gold Member’

AquaMarine-Green-Fins-Gold-Member

What does that actually mean?

“A Green Fins Gold Member is a marine tourism operator that has achieved the highest level of environmental compliance under the Green Fins initiative. They are recognized for having minimal environmental impact by actively implementing strict Code of Conduct principles to protect coral reefs.”

We’re proud of the team and the standards we continue to maintain.

Blue Project by AMD-B: Small Actions by AMD-B to Support The Environment

Waste-Management-Waste-Bins

At AquaMarine Diving, caring for the environment is part of our everyday approach—both during our dive trips and in the office. We believe that small, consistent actions can make a meaningful difference over time.

During dive trips, we aim to reduce single-use plastic by providing refillable drinking water and encouraging guests to bring their own reusable bottles. We also remind divers to avoid touching marine life or coral, and to maintain good buoyancy at all times. When we come across debris—particularly plastic or fishing lines—we collect what we can and return it for proper disposal.

In the office, we follow similar principles. Waste is separated, paper is reused where possible, and we make a conscious effort to reduce electricity and water consumption. Simple habits, such as turning off lights and air conditioning when not in use, are part of our daily routine.

Protecting the ocean is not only about large initiatives—it begins with awareness in everyday actions. By maintaining these habits as a team, we aim to support a cleaner ocean and a more sustainable approach to diving.

PADI Divemaster Internship Programme

Interns-February-Report

Our team continues to make steady progress, with Nanda and Annisa recently completing their Advanced Open Water and Emergency First Response training.

Throughout the month, they gained experience across a range of adventure dives, helping to build confidence and develop their skills underwater. They also completed EFR training, learning essential emergency response techniques, including CPR and the use of oxygen equipment. Both have now begun working through the Rescue Diver theory.

The month also included some memorable moments—from taking part in Dive Against Debris and coral monitoring, to seeing a manta ray for the first time.

We look forward to their continued development as they gain more experience in the months ahead.
